Slow and Steady Wins the Race!
I’m in this publishing game for the long run. I have been working on new books and trying to find firm footing for marketing The Enjella® Adventure Series in the shifting sands of the publishing industry. I have books for sale in independent bookstores across the country, like,
in Mystic, CT, and right in my own back yard.
But my best sales continue to be online at GET EPIC! Every quarter I get excited when I get my report:
Doing the math, I see that online my BEST SELLER, What More Can a Fairy Be? had TWO HUNDRED AND NINETY readers every day from April to June! Wow! That is sensational! Magic Colors had 122 readers daily and 101 kids read my new book The Curse of the Magic Mirror each day. Not a bad start!
Electronic reading is here to stay, and I am embracing any platform that facilities reading. But screen fatigue alone will help ensure that reading good old fashioned books will never fade away completely. I hope to do my part to keep them around.
Summer is a great time for reading fun, plus educators encourage kids to keep reading over the summer to help prevent the slow slide of everything learned this past school year from slipping from our minds. So stop reading this right now and go pick out an enticing book!
I am right there with James Patterson, championing bookstores and encouraging people to read paper books and patronize their local bookstores and libraries. Patterson, the author of many best selling books for adults, also has a series of children’s books and expends a plethora of resources advocating for increased literacy. Check out his website for kids, Read Kiddo, READ!
So don’t forget to find and read a great book — in front of a kid! Nothing provides incentive and fosters good habits like leading by example.
