Jocelyn Collen Preached This Sunday for CATHOLIC WOMEN PREACH
It never occurred to me that I would grow up to admire my CHILDREN. But I suddenly find myself in the position of marveling at who they are and what they have accomplished. Each one of them. This weekend I was privileged to be able to hear and watch Jocelyn preach again: Catholic Women Preach.I wish that I could say that “I taught her everything she knows” as the line in the song from Hello Dolly goes. But Jocelyn found this path all on her own. That is the wonder and awe of having children. They shine and far excel in fields way beyond anything I could accomplish. I am so grateful that her light is in my life. She also participated in the Women’s March in Boston this weekend, standing up for her right to have a voice. Jocelyn quoted Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr in her homily, to inspire us all to do our part: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.”I applaud everyone who gets involved and tries to make the world a better place, regardless of their political point of view.As Jocelyn preaches: each one of us needs to do our best to follow the right path and let our light shine.(C) Jane F.
